Nonvoting AICPA members would not be eligible to obtain the credential. The new designation is to be voted on separately in May by the CIMA and AICPA councils. If approved the joint venture would launch in 2012. According to an article on the CIMA site the new designation was approved and will be called the Chartered Global Management Accountant).
