The original version of the following graphic illustration is part of Abby Farrell's summary of the Strategy Focused Organization by Kaplan and Norton. (Summary). Abby's summary includes a number of other strategy maps as well as a description of how the balanced scorecard and strategy fit together. The generic strategy map below has been revised to make it somewhat larger, and to add a reference to the book below the graphic. It can be used to introduce the link between the balanced scorecard and strategy. This graphic and many others also appear in my balanced scorecard Summary of summaries.
