The purpose of this paper is to present a methodological decision tree framework as a useful technique for planning and controlling a research strategy. Mock makes a distinction between methodology and research techniques and views research as a sequence of decisions involving methodological alternatives. An example of a decision tree is developed that leads to an accounting business game. An adaptation of this illustration is provided below.
